Biltong is an air dried, cured meat, originating from South Africa. It can be made using various meats, but beef is the most common choice here in the UK, and it's the only thing you'll find in our bags.
Real people, using real ingredients, to make a really delicious snack. It's as simple as that!
Did you know?
Meat preservation dates back to ancient times as a survival technique using salt, brines and vinegars. Spices such as pepper, coriander and cloves were thought to have anti microbial properties. We don't market it that way now, but you'll still find that ancient philosophy in the biltong we make today.
Biltong HQ
How we make it
It all started with an Englishman's love of homemade biltong (and a lot of nagging from those lucky enough to sample it!).
The finest British beef
Our circle is small enough to know each supplier personally.
A dip in the vinegar bath
Part of making biltong is dipping the steaks in a vinegar bath. We won't give all our secrets away!
Authentic spices
The classic salt, pepper and coriander combination, with spices imported directly from South Africa.
Marinaded by hand
Paul can still be found getting his hands dirty in the marinading room every week, so the product stays the same. Always!
Air dried for days
We spend days drying that beef to perfection. That's why it never goes in the fridge!
Sliced ready for eating
Open the bag and dig in.
See it for yourself

Keep it happy
Biltong is most happy in a cool dry place. Once it's open, devour it all in one go or pop it in a bowl with a bit of paper towel over it. Don't even think about sticking it in the fridge!

Questions?
What are the blue packets inside the bags?+
They're oxygen absorbers, there to keep your biltong as fresh as the day it was packed. They are NOT seasoning, and they helpfully say DO NOT EAT in 9 languages!
How long can I keep it?+
Sealed, our 30g bags are tested and certified good to eat for 6 months from manufacture, and our larger sizes for 2 months. These are best before dates, so use your professional biltong eating opinion accordingly!
How spicy is it?+
Naga Chilli brings the heat: it won't slap you in the face, but it will definitely creep up on you! Piri Piri is low on the spicy scale and high on warm, fragrant flavour.
Can I collect my order?+
Yes! If you're local to us, our doors are open Tuesday and Wednesday, 08:00 till 14:00.
